Riding Rules
Speed Limits Based on Terrain
In the Himalayas (Ladakh, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, Bhutan, Tibet, Northeast India), motorcycle speeds range from 40–70 KMPH, depending on road conditions, water streams, and traffic.
In Rajasthan, South India, and West Coastal Rides, speeds range from 40–85 KMPH.
Ride Leadership – Road Captain
The Road Captain is responsible for knowing the roads, riding rules, regional conditions, and local perspectives.
No overtaking is allowed; riders must follow the Road Captain, similar to how packs of wolves follow a leader.
Mandatory Riding Gear
All riders must wear certified helmets, riding gear, and riding shoes.
Your safety is our top priority.
Hydration & Essentials
Hydration bags are mandatory to reduce plastic waste.
Riders should carry their personal medical kit, warm inners, and snacks/food in a riding bag.
Side of the Road Rules
In India and the Indian subcontinent, we ride on the left-hand side of the road.
This is especially important in the Himalayas to avoid accidents with heavy trucks, which cannot stop as quickly as lighter vehicles.
Clutch Usage Warning
Avoid riding in half clutch as it can cause the motorcycle’s clutch plates to burn out.
Uphill & Downhill Riding Technique
Use the hard gear braking system:
50% hard gear,
25% front brake,
25% rear brake.
While climbing uphill, use a bit of front disc brake first, then downshift to a lower gear to maintain power.
For descending downhill, shift to lower gear first, then apply 25% front brake for control.
Always stick to the left side while climbing or descending.
Early Morning Rides
On certain days, we will start early in the morning to avoid riding after dark.
