Rider Including Bike Rental

Rider including bike rental is how our fixed departures are priced: you, a Himalayan from the Vashisht fleet, and the guided week as published. It is not a bike hire with a tour vaguely attached. It is the tour, with the motorcycle already in the number.

What the phrase on the calendar actually means

Search results are full of tour prices that hide the motorcycle, then add it at the checkout. Hardev’s published expedition figures are rider including Royal Enfield rental unless a private date says you are bringing your own machine. That is the default because most guests flying into India do not bring a Himalayan in the hold.

The bike in that price is the Himalayan scram 411 we prepare for mountain work. It is not a random Classic 350 from a neighbouring stall. If you want to ride your own Enfield, tell us. We still set group pace. We still run support. The price changes because we are not issuing a hire.

Rider including bike does not mean fuel, snacks, or every museum ticket. Read the tour page. The phrase answers one question: do I need a separate motorcycle rental? On these departures, no.

Two-up is a different conversation. Some routes and some bikes can take a pillion. High passes and a loaded Himalayan often should not. We quote rider and pillion separately when it is even on the table. Do not assume the including-bike figure covers two bodies.

Damage, deposits, and the inspection at return still exist. Including the rental in the tour price is not a licence to treat the motorcycle as disposable. It is a way to stop guests booking a tour and a third-party hire that has never seen 4,000 metres.

You ride the included Himalayan as part of the group

The motorcycle is allocated at briefing. If something does not fit you — seat, controls — say so in Vashisht, not at Keylong. We would rather swap in the yard.

You follow the lead. The included bike is not a hire you peel off with toward a side valley the itinerary did not budget. Custom add-on days exist. Mid-expedition freelance does not.

Included-bike pricing follows the published tours

Every month on the 2026 calendar that lists a Hardev expedition is priced in this format unless the notes say otherwise. Winter Rajasthan and coast use the same idea with the fleet that travels. Self-guided rental is a different product and a different number.

We map dates, riding level and constraints for a rider-including-bike departure — including season, permits, and whether a fixed departure or a private date is the honest fit.
02 · Plan
Itinerary, nights, and what has to stay realistic on a phone-sized day in the week you booked. You get the route in writing before anyone issues a Himalayan.
03 · Ride
Lead rider, support, daily bike checks. a rider-including-bike departure is ridden at the pace the road allows that week, not the pace a brochure promised last year.
04 · Hand-off
Go-home briefing, bike return in Manali or the published finish, and the same contact if you want the next range next season.
