Reckong Peo is Kinnaur’s working town. Fuel, a bed, and the road to Kalpa all sit here. A motorcycle tour that only fuels in Peo has not given Kinnaur a night.
From Kaza the gorge drops into this climate. From Shimla you climb toward it. Either way, Peo is the hub that makes Kalpa and the Satluj line make sense.
